Isophorone is colorless to yellow volatile liquid with a characteristic odor (camphor / mint flavor). Native to cranberries. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, acetone and other organic solvents.

Application

- Used as paint, ink, paint, gum, resin, nitro fiber solvent and chemical synthesis intermediate, especially for vinyl resin.

- Mainly used in pesticides, coatings and canned coatings. It is a high boiling solvent for nitrocellulose lacquer and synthetic resin coatings. Special coatings are used as thinners. Mixed with methyl isobutyl ketone using soluble phenolic resin and epoxy resin.
