Applications

1.It is mainly used for making adhesive for hot core box craft core in large quantities.

2.It can be used to make pyrrole, thiophene, tetrahydrofuran, etc. Tetrahydrofuran is an important derivative of furan.

3.When furan is etherified, reduced, and hydrolyzed to 2, 5-dimethoxytetrahydrofuran, it is hydrolyzed to butanedialdehyde, which is the raw material for the synthesis of atropine, another alkaloid.
