Tetramethyl thiuram disulfide CAS 137-26-8, known as rubber Accelerator TMTD (TT), is a white or light gray powder or granule with its density in 1.29. It is soluble in benzene, acetone, chloroform, CS2 partly soluble in alcohol, diethyl ether, CCI4 insoluble in water, gasoline and alkali with lower concentration. it is widely used for the production of natural rubber and synthesis glue and also for the production of fungicide in agrochemicals.

Applications
For rubber industry, it is used as vulcanization accelerator mixed up with thiazole accelerator. Along with other accelerators, it is also used as continuous glue accelerator. Over 100℃, it could slowly break out free sulfer, so it is also used as curing agent. Production with accelerator TMTD has strong performance of aging-resistant and heat resistance. So it is used for the production of natural rubber and synthesis glue. For example, it is used for the production of tyre, tyre tube, electric cables, and rubber shoes.
For agriculture, it is used as a broad-spectrum fungicide.
For aviation purpose, it is used for the additive of aviation lubricant oils.
